very bizarre realization

Alright. That dodgy historian type from the TNG ep A Matter of Time... is he or is he not Captain Jack?

If nothing else, he's a sound-alike, I *swear*!

It's a soundalike. The guy who played Rasmussen was called Matt Frewer.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia for you. The part was originally written for Robin Williams, who opted out because he chose to play Peter Pan in the movie 'Hook'.

The fellow who played Rasmussen - the doctor - was Max Headroom back in the 80s, and has recently been on... some show about the paranormal whose name escapes me.
